Sugar is Great!...  But Over-dosing is Not!!

Sugar is the most easily available carbohydrate and source of energy. Naturally available, it is the most delicious and omnipresent food flavour.

It is not really the sugar but the OVERDOSE of sugar that causes the problems.

So what makes an "Overdose"?

The World Health Organisation, American Heart Association and the American Diabetes Association recommend that to reduce Non-communicable diseases like dental cavities, diabetes, heart trouble etc the calories from sugar should be <5% of total calorie intake per day.

For an average Indian, with 1800 calorie diet, this would mean just 4-6 teaspoons of sugar in a day
